North Peachtree Baptist Church
Church History
1958 North Peachtree Baptist Church as a mission in the Sexton Woods School in Chamblee Ga.
1959 Sanctuary seating 225 built on Tilly Mill Road by members of the church.
1960 Construction began on gymnasium for youth activities.
1964 Sunday School rooms added to gymnasium and a pastorium built.
1967 New sanctuary seating 500 was erected.
1969 Additional education space added to Chapel building.
Church purchased two lots adjoining its property on Tilly Mill and Eidson Roads.
1970 Parking lot enlarged.
1971 Gymnasium renovated and addition made to pastorium.
1974 New sixty passenger Blue Bird bus purchased.
1976 “Together We Build” program approved-new sanctuary under construction.
1977 Sanctuary seating 1,000 completed and dedicated.
1979 Old sanctuary renovated for educational facilities.
1986 “While It Is Day” campaign approved to build a Christian Life Ministries Center including new office space, new gymnasium(old gym to be torn down) and additional education space; to renovate the Chapel building; to relocate current office building (originally pastorium) as a home for furloughing missionaries.
1988 New facilities completed and dedicated.
1990 Note burning for 1,000 seat sanctuary.
1998 Note burning for rest of mortgage
1999 “Come Soar With Us” building project approved for expansion of sanctuary lobby, adding bathrooms and elevator, and extensive improvements to sanctuary including new carpet as well as other campus improvements.
2001 Building project completed
